Denver Travel Deals: Denver New Years Eve, Steamboat Springs, and airfare sales

Holiday travel deals this week include discount lodging at Steamboat Springs, hotel package deals for New Years Eve in downtown Denver, and airfare sales from DIA to warm weather destinations like Tucson, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs is working with Travelzoo.com to offer guest rooms at $229 per night at their ski in/ski out property. Steamboat Springs is rated one of the top ski destinations in the country by Ski Magazine. Enjoy the slope-side convenience and the rooftop hot tubs after a day of skiing. Each year, Denver hosts New Years Eve Fireworks Downtown and there are still rooms available at downtown hotels. The party starts at 9:00 p.m. on the 16th Street Mall. The Burnsley Hotel is less than a mile away from the Mall and offers a New Years Eve package for two that includes party favors, chocolates, and a bottle of champagne starting at $159 for the night. Check Denver.org for details on packages for other downtown properties. Book quickly several downtown hotels are already sold out.

The airlines are offering end-of-the-year sales to promote travel in the first part of next year. Southwest Airlines is offering flights starting at $59 each way. A quick search of flights in March 2012 from Denver turned up $129 each way to Ft. Lauderdale, $79 each way to Tucson, and $69 each way to Las Vegas, Nevada. These great fares are not available on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays and there may be other black out dates.
