Ecopalooza 2012: a solar-powered benefit concert

Yes! Solar-powered. Ecopalooza 2011 is Kink FMs 2nd annual solar powered benefit concert held in Elizabeth Caruthers Park in Portland. Tickets to the event, being held August 18 from 2 P.M. to 10 P.M., are just generally $25, but if you purchase online with Fox Daily Deals, you can get them for just $12.50.

Whats cool about Ecopalooza besides the name? The entire event is 100% solar powered, ticket sales benefit SOLV, an environmental non-profit that promotes building communities through volunteer work, and there will be a kids zone where they can run around and playa whole bunch of local bands on the roster to keep you rockin all day long.

Kids Zone activities: Aside from the usual awesomeness of a great Portland park, kids can play bocce ball, check out public art, play on paths and the splash pad if its as warm as it has been.
Bands to play: Fruition, The 5th Elephant, Brian Odell Band, Veio and one of the greatest bands to come from the Pacific Northwest, Everclear.
