NEW incident on 2nd Flight 253 - Obama to release statement

A new alarming incident has occurred on today's Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. The plane has been met by emergency crews and investigators. The earliest reports are saying that a passenger became "unruly" apparently on the approach to Detroit. The key to budget travel is to approach onward. It is reported by CNN and MSNBC that the passenger locked himself in the bathroom of the aircraft; no device was found on the passenger but all luggage and other items on the aircraft are being searched.

Deputy White House Press Secretary Bill Burton says that President Obama has been informed and is said to be preparing to make a statement on this situation shortly. The incident is being called a "disruption", but since the previous incident on Christmas Day was originally described as a "passenger setting off a firecracker" the actual situation may evolve into something more serious.

Again, this is a NEW incident, and is not to be confused with the Christmas Day incident on the same numbered flight.
