Its not often you find awesome things to do for free, but through Halloween you can head down to Milwaukie and get into the Halloween spirit totally gratis! If haunted houses arent your thing and you dont have any kids to trick-or-treat with, but you love all things spooky, Davis Graveyard is just the thing for you. A crazy big yard thats transformed by other Halloween-fanatics into a missive graveyard, complete with lights, fog, sound and other special effects comes to life every night in October through All Hollows Eve.
Ditch your pumpkin carving to see real artwork displayed. Monday through Thursday the graveyard is lit up for visitors, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday is when it really livens up. The special effects are on (weather permitting) for visitors to enjoy and get creeped out by. Effects start at dusk and go until 11 P.M. (10 P.M. Sunday through Thursday). On Halloween, there is a special performance of Michael Jacksons Thriller dance by the Milwaukie High School Dance Team between 5 P.M and 10 P.M.
Milwaukie is just a short drive from Portland and is easy to get to. Bring your little ghosts and goblins to see this spine-chilling display before they go out and scare others this Halloween season. Its the perfect activity for those with large groups, kids that are too old for trick-or-treating or those that are too afraid of those terrifying haunted houses/mazes going on all over town.
