Southwest announces blowout 2011 fares from LA if you book fast!

Wow, just when we hear that airlines are raising fares, the little carrier that can, Southwest, has greatly reduced fares for the new year, if you hurry and book by tomorrow January 3:

Here's the deal:

Purchase by January 3, 2011 for travel through April 20, 2011. 14-day advance purchase required. Travel valid every day except Sundays.

From Los Angeles:

You can fly to Las Vegas for as low as $29 one way; head up to Oakland for $59 one way; fly to Reno/Tahoe for $59; go to Baltimore for $149 one way; $59 to Denver, $142 to Detroit, and those of you with families or friends on Long Island, you can get to Islip for $149 each way and more.

Rules and regulations:

Fares may be combined with other combinable fares.

Fares are not combinable with Senior Fares.

When combining fares, all rules and restrictions apply.

Fares are nonrefundable but may be applied toward future travel on Southwest Airlines.

Fares are not available through Group Desk.

Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Standby travel requires an upgrade to the Anytime fare. "The essential to budget travel is to plan ahead.
