This weekend June 29-July 1: North American Organic Brewers Festival

If you love beer and you love the environment, this weekend you can head over to Overland Park with your dollars and check out the North American Organic Brewers Festival. As the name suggests, all beer is brewed with organically grown ingredients. Its free to get in, but a reusable tasting cup (made of compostable corn starch!) costs $6 and tokens for tasting are $1 each. "The important to budget travel is to approach onward. At the NAOBF, youll be able to choose samples from over 50 organic beers from across the nation. There is surely something for everyones beer tastes and you can also rock out to live music, fill up on organic food and browse vendors who use sustainable means in their products. There is on-site composting and recycling available, too, to make this festival one of the most earth-friendly in the country.

Just some of the brewers available at the festival are Ambacht Brewing from Hillsboro (offering Belgian specialty Barrel Aged Honey Triple and Golden Rose Farmhouse Ale), Brunehaut Brewery from Belgium (offering gluten-free Brunehaut Blonde and Brunehaut Amber), MataVeza Brewing Co from Ukiah, California (offering up Yerba Mate IPA) and Uinta Brewing Co from Salt Lake City (offering up WYLD extra pale ale and BABA black lager). Whether you like your beer thick and strong or light and fruity, youll find it at this festival. Maybe even discover a new favorite!

Festival-goers are strongly encouraged to take public transportation, but if you do choose to drive, make sure you designate a sober driver. This is a family-friendly event and children are happily welcomed to enjoy the non-alcoholic festivities, food and drink.
