Just when you thought there couldn't be another luxury hotel discount site, along comes Spire. Spire operates much like other luxury hotel discount sites, such as Jetsetter, Vacationist, SniqueAway, in that they offer their members discounted rooms at select luxury hotels for a limited time. It should be noted though that Jetsetter does have a "hold" option which gives you 72 hours to pay for the room, less 10 percent that is charged immediately but which is refunded to you as Jetsetter credit to be used within 12 months should you decide to no longer pursue the booking. For those who hate getting refunds in the form of "credits" because they never end up using it, Spire is the way to go.
Spire also tells you right off the bat whether the hotel is right for you. While other sites put up paragraphs only extolling the virtues of their selected hotels, Spire lists out who should avoid the hotel. For the La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego, Spire honestly says that while the property has stunning golf courses and swimming pools, it's not for those who want an intimate boutique experience. The Pavilions in Phuket is great for those who want a secluded, intimate experience rather than those looking for lots of excitement and urban diversions. Spire members who book also get Spire Perks, which for The Pavilions means round-trip airport transfers and a 90-minute couple's spa treatment.
From the looks of it, Spire is a site, in addition to Jetsetter, Vacationist and SniqueAway, that you should definitely add to your arsenal for that chance at a luxury stay at an affordable price.
