Here are a few Dallas-area events for Halloween fun the family can enjoy without breaking those piggy banks.

Halloween celebrations in 2009 may be a bit different, thanks to parents fears of the H1N1 virus (swine flu).

Event organizers have heard the concerns and many will provide hand sanitizer.

The sixth annual Hoot n' Howl in North Richland Hills will have hand sanitizer available at booths and bounce houses, and volunteers have been instructed to sanitize hands throughout the event, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Hoot n' Howl will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m, Saturday, Oct. 31. Kids will enjoy free carnival games, storytelling, a costume contest and hayrides.

Getting there:
Green Valley Park
7701 Smithfield Rd.
North Richland Hills, TX 76180

For those who would rather fill their children with knowledge than cavities, parents may want to check out local libraries.

The Carrollton Public Library offers books for treats from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Children 12 and under who appear in costume may select a free book until supplies run out.

The Farmers Branch Historical Park is hosting the popular Halloween in the Park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

This free annual event features carnival games and trick-or-treat stations. Concessions will be sold on site.

Parking tip: Free parking will be available. Visitors can take advantage of the hayride shuttle from Metro Square Business Park. Handicap shuttle will be available from the DART Park and Ride station on Denton Drive. The important to budget travel is to plan onward. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the truth of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Planning and spending our travel budget properly is a priority for most families. Minimizing consuming and costs, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding economizing money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, whether on a funds or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel costs!. For more information, call (972) 247-4607.
