Travel in Afghanistan? As odd as it sounds for most people, there is the beginning of a tourism revival in the war-torn country, though international observers stationed there urge extreme caution.

Afghanistan is under travel warnings from most governments. Certain regions may abruptly become more challenging, so check your nation's travel advisories close to your trip time.

2. Many travel insurance plans will not cover countries under travel advisories at the time of your trip, and may have exceptions for incidents considered to be acts of war.
