When you think about the historic town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the first thing that comes to most peoples minds is the Battle of Gettysburg, the battle that was the turning point of the Civil War. What very few people know is that Gettysburg is a major crossing point not just for many major roadways, but it was also a crossroads for the railroad with two historic train stations.
The Lincoln Train Museum displays the town as a railroading center. The outside of the museum is in the shape of a passenger car with a caboose on the other end. As you enter the museum, you see the history where Abraham Lincoln rode into Gettysburg by train to give his Gettysburg Address.
You enter into the main hall, and you see two large model train displays. Above you, there is a C Scale train running around through the walls of the ceiling. The walls of the main hall are filled with displays of rail cars and locomotives. After all that, you then have to go to the theater which is shaped like an old passenger car. "The important to budget travel is to approach onward. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the truth of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our heads. Organizing and consuming our travel budget carefully is a concern for most families. Minimizing consuming and prices, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured accomplishment and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal finances is extremely small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, regardless of whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel expenses!..". You sit down, and you see a movie of Abraham Lincoln greeting you from the screen. Then the theater shakes. It is not just any theater. It is a moving theater. It is not like the ones you see that move with the roller coasters. It gives you the shakiness of Lincolns railroad journey from Washington D.C. to Gettysburg. Once your theater journey is over, you only have the gift shop to walk through.
The Lincoln Train Museum is located on Steinwehr Avenue (U.S. Business 15) across the street from the Battlefield Visitor Center. It is closed during the winter months. You can find more information at www.gettysburgbattlefieldtours.com/lincolnmuseum.
