Another week has come and gone and the weather is beautiful and warm for most of the country (however, not in northern California). This week saw big headlines as an earthquake struck Mexicali and nearly affected a group in Sacramento that was down there. There were more Southwest deals this week. We looked at more of Spain and I also provided some tips for traveling with kids on that summer vacation.
Monday
7.2 earthquake hits Mexicali and Baja region, Sacramento group just misses the quake - A big earthquake hit near the border of California and Mexico last Sunday, causing some damage but, thankfully, only a few injuries and a couple of deaths. While this earthquake did some damage, it just missed a group from Sacramento who had spent the entire week in Mexicali.
Tuesday
Southwest offers another 3 days of deals - Southwest offered another three days of deals for as low as $50 one way. Just in time for summer vacation or a trip to the ballpark, there will be more Southwedt deals soon.
Wednesday
Exploring Spain and Portugal Part VIII - From Ronda to Sevilla (photo slideshow) - Part VIII of this series on Spain and Portugal took us to Spain's biggest cathedral, the Alcazar, the center of bullfighting in Spain, and one of the holiest cities in the country. While there was no article to recap for Saturday, there was some tragic news in the world as Poland's President, Lech Kaczynski, and many of the top members of his government and military perished in a plane crash in Russia. 97 people on board died and it is a shock and tragedy for everyone in the world. My condolences go out to their families and the people of Poland.
