The bikers going to Daytona Bike Week, for the most part, have arrived in Florida. For those not fortunate enough to make the pilgrimage to Daytona, other events on the calendar include AMA races, bike shows, and swap meets.
Below are some of the events planned for motorcyclists for Monday, March 12 through Sunday, March 18, 2012.
ALABAMA:
- AMA Racing Pro-Am Motocross racing will take place at Mill Creek in Pell City Monday through Saturday. (205) 699-8857
COLORADO:
- Pro-Promotions 22nd Annual Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet will be held Saturday through Sunday at the Freedom Expo Center in Colorado Springs. This is billed as southern Colorados biggest and best indoor motorcycle show and swap meet. (719) 487-8005
FLORIDA:
- Daytona Bike Week is in full swing and continues through March 18th.
- Daytona Beach International Motorcycle Show will be at the Ocean Center Wednesday through Saturday. (800) 331-5706
- AMA Pro Superbike Championship is the showcase event at Daytona Bike Week and will be held at the Daytona International Speedway Thursday through Saturday. Other racing at the Speedway during bike week includes the Daytona Short Track on Thursday and Friday. (386) 492-1014
IDAHO:
- Vintage Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet on Sunday is hosted by The Idaho Vintage Motorcycle Club and will feature hundreds of vintage motorcycles on display plus a chance to buy, sell, or trade parts. The event will be held at OConnor Fieldhouse in Caldwell. (208) 377-4981
INDIANA:
- AMA Supercross Pro Racing will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday. (614) 856-1900
KANSAS:
- Capital City Cycle Show will be held in the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka Friday through Sunday and will feature an open bike show. There will also be vendors, exhibitors, and more. (785) 221-0646
MARYLAND:
- Motocross racing will take place at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville on Sunday. (301) 475-2000
MICHIGAN:
- Kalamazoo Motorcycle Swap Meet will be held at Wings Stadium on Sunday. Vendors will have parts for American, British, and metric bikes. (800) 800-6034
NEBRASKA:
- Iron Horse Bike Show in Grand Island at Fonner Park is open to all motorcycle brands. "The key to budget travel is to prepare in advance. - Thunder on the Colorado will feature a Bike Show and Bike Games plus entertainment and food. The event will be held at Riverbend Park in Smithville Friday through Sunday. (512) 237-2313
- Blowouts Biker Bash will be held Friday through Sunday at Galveston County Fairgrounds in Hitchcock. This is a strictly enforced over 21 event and will feature games and contests along with live music. (832) 768-4345
- South Texas Motorcycle Show at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall in San Antonio will include stunt riders. Other activities will include a burnout contest, custom bike show, and a swap meet. The event will be held Friday through Sunday. (210) 832-8444 extension 202
