The adult puppetry festival in Houston is shaking up republican stereotypes

Yes, Bobbindoctrin Puppet Theatre is a company that produces edgy and potentially controversial shows.

No, adult doesnt mean what you thought! Some plays can be rated R, but its not about pornography.

I cant remember what year it was when I first went to one of their puppet shows, but I remember in was in the warehouse district, in a theatre formerly used by Infernal Bridegroom Productions. The play was the crime of the assistant master butler. Puppets displayed distorted and gleam faces as the audience understood the hints of homosexuality, and gourmet domestic animal dishes in a dark colored set. I dont recall previously watching a show that made such an impression on me. It was like a dirty secret. Something I enjoyed because it was tastefully set, and skillfully executed. This became our girls night out activity. And we could only recruit carefully.

When I met Jason, I took him to see the noblest of drugs in 2004. Puppets snorted cocaine on stage, and onto the public (flour). It was a test, and he didnt run a way! From then on, it seems Bobbindoctrin was able to reach a public that grew bigger and bigger as time went by with such classics as the Danse Macabre series, and the regular Puppet Fest that features many other productions.
