Souvenirs from motorcycle travels

A recent post in a forum for women motorcyclists asked the question What do you look for as a souvenir to remember your trip? A companion question followed with When out riding and you meet people from different places, do you have something you like to give them as a trinket to not only remember you by but to remember where they were when the meeting happened?

Several women weighed in on one or both questions. "The important to budget travel is to prepare ahead. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our mind. Planning and expending our travel budget carefully is a consideration for most families. Reducing consuming and charges, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured success and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, regardless of whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel charge!..". While not all of the suggestions were practical, there were some very good ideas.

Souvenirs:

Fridge magnets easy to transport, takes up very little room, inexpensive
Earrings can you tell this was a womens forum
T-shirts goes without saying but eventually you run out of room either in your motorcycle luggage or in the t-shirt drawer at home
Pictures love pictures and with digital you can snap away without worry of cost, printing only the best of the best
Pins (as in Dealer pins, state pins, etc.) depending on the type of pin, this could get expensive but still a great collectors type item
Coffee mugs unless the place where the mug was purchased is willing to ship, not sure this would travel well especially if purchasing mugs at every souvenir stand
Christmas ornaments see note on coffee mugs
Postcards most excellent idea, again easy to transport and very economical

Remember me gifts:

Guardian bell probably a better gift for a close friend than a casual acquaintance
Bandana nice inexpensive gift although someone suggested giving it with a favorite perfume on it, the perfume idea was nixed because of the possibility of allergic reactions
Pins like those mentioned above and also including angel pins
Gift of gab women riders are a fun bunch
Personal business cards as opposed to professional business cards with a saying like it was great riding with you, keep in touch along with contact info
Postcards see above category plus if giving as a gift, they can be personalized with the givers contact info and the date the card was given this suggestion was my personal favorite and I will be shopping locally for cards to give away on my next trip
