Veterans Day Parade, Long Beach

This Saturday, November 6, 2010 soldiers and veterans will be parading down the streets of Long Beach. American flags and proud families will be waving alongside the parade to honor our troops. Marching bands will musically captivate infantry from every branch of the armed forces. Join in on the support and gratitude given by the crowd, thanking those who risk their lives for our country.

The parade will loop around Atlantic Avenue starting and ending at Houghton Park, on the corner of Atlantic and Harding Street.

Street parking = Free

Dining = $0 - $10

Picnic areas are available.

After noon, when the parade ends, the public is encouraged to unite with the marching troops in a Freedom Walk to express their appreciation. Seeing a mass of people walking beside the soldiers can bring even the strongest cadet to tears. To sign up for the Freedom Walk fill out the application online. Participants are to meet at Houghton Park by 9:00 a.m. to receive the T-shirt that theyre supposed to wear during the march. Light snacks will be provided.

Also following the parade: A dedication mural will be revealed at the Long Beach Vietnam Veterans Memorial, A patriotic concert will be playing good ol American tunes at the park, craft and food booths will be catering to patrons, and A ceremony will be held to honor veterans everywhere.
