Barksdale Air Force Base just opened a leisure travel office to serve the military community in the Shreveport and Bossier City area. What that means to the motorcycle community is that yet another travel resource is available. Since Shreveport and Bossier City is home to the Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base and a large military retirement community, the resource is available to all eligible military members, active duty or retired, in the area who also happen to be motorcycle enthusiasts. The office can help them plan their motorcycle trips across the country and abroad as well as booking other leisure travel like air travel plans, cruises and hotel needs. Military discounts are available and a certified travel agent is on hand to assist with planning and booking needs.
The new Barksdale Travel Agency is located in the Arts & Crafts Center, Bldg 4145 at 475 Icarus Rd. Hours of operation are Monday, noon 5 p.m., Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. to accommodate guests after duty hours. Formerly Information, Tickets and Travel, the new Barksdale Travel Agency encompasses all areas of travel and entertainment.
Customers retain the ability to purchase attraction tickets to venues like Six Flags, Sea World, Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World, while gaining the ability to schedule all travel arrangements. The office offers one-stop shopping for air, rail, rental cars, hotels, cruises and vacation packages. Any trip imagined is expertly planned.
