The hotels in Manchester, Tennessee came together after one of the worst floods Tennessee has seen in over thirty years. The devastating floods sent thirty Tennessee counties into a state of emergency, but every county was affected by the torrential rains. The important to budget travel is to plan in advance. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the truth of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our heads. Planning and spending our travel budget properly is a concern for most families. Curbing spending and fees, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind economizing money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal finances is incredibly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, regardless of whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel expenses!. Water rising over twenty feet above flood levels, while even higher in some areas devastated homes, businesses, and even entire towns. Over one billion dollars has been done in damages so far, but that number is expected to continue rising in the coming weeks. In these trying times, the hotels in Manchester, along with people across Tennessee are coming together to lend a helping hand and show America what the Volunteer State really means and what southern hospitality really is. Contributions to care packages, discounted rates on extended stays for flood victims, and other assistance are only the tip of the iceberg of what the hotels have donated to flood victims of Nashville and the surrounding areas.
Care Packages
Coffee County Central High School student organizations contacted many businesses in the area asking for contributions for the care packages they assembled. These care packages were donated to the American Red Cross of Nashville for distribution to the many flood victims. Local business owners were more than willingly contributed many items including soap, shampoo, towels and a number of other necessities victims have been left without.
Discounted rates for flood victims
The Days Inn, Country Inn, Ramada, Sleep Inn and Comfort Inn are offering discounted rates to victims who have lost or had damage to their homes during the devastating floods. FEMA is providing a significant amount of assistance, but the maximum amount receivable is $28,900 and that is only if all of the requirements are met. If temporary housing is needed, these hotels are offering discounted rates on extended stays and special weekly and monthly rates. Simply call and speak with a manager about specials for flood victims. The hotel managers have pledged to assist in any way possible.
Other Contributions
Many of the hotels that did not make contributions to the care packages have made other donations. The Hampton Inn, Super 8, Americas Best Value, Country Inn, and Days Inn partnered with S. R. C. Enterprise to make one very large donation. Towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, trash bags and a great number of other items were donated to the American Red Cross of Nashville for distribution. The Ramada and Days Inn has also partnered with the American Red Cross to offer temporary housing for victims of disaster.
