The repositioning cruises offered by many cruise lines are one of the best deals for people who love to travel. This spring cruise ships are being moved from the Caribbean, South America and other areas where they cruise during the winter months to new locations for their summer itineraries.
Most repositioning itineraries are 10 nights or longer, but cruise prices often average less than $100 per day, and that includes your room and three meals per day plus snacks and the midnight buffeta must experience at least once on every cruise. At these prices its hard to find a comparable vacation value. Dinners often feature lobster, steak and gourmet treats. Only cocktails, beer and wine cost extra.
Bargains I recently spotted include a12-night Celebrity cruise departing San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 18 and stopping in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Agadir, Morocco, Malaga and Valencia, Spain before docking in Barcelona. If you dont mind an inside cabin, this cruise on Celebritys Summit ship can be booked for well under $1000 per person.
Costa Cruises has a 10-night cruise departing Savona, Italy on May 14 and stopping in Malaga and Cadiz, Spain, Lisbon Portugal, London and Amsterdam before arriving in Copenhagen to begin its summer itinerary. Inside cabins are available under $1000, and even a balcony cabin can be scored for less that $1500 per person.
A 21-night cruise on the Pacific Princess leaves Fort Lauderdale on April 24 goes through the Panama Canal and ends in Seattle with stops in South and Central America, as well as Mexico. Although cabins start at more than $1000 per person, the cost per day for this cruise is less than $100.
A more exotic 12-night Royal Caribbean cruise departs Dubai, United Arab Emirates on May 20 with stops in Muscat, Oman, Luxor, Egypt, the Suez Canal and Cairo before arriving in Rome on June 1. Inside cabins on RCCLs Legend of the Seas begin at less that $1000.
Other exotic, and more expensive repositioning cruises, include a12-night Royal Caribbeancruise beginning in Singapore and stopping in Malaysia, Thailand and India before arriving in Dubai, and an 18-night NCL cruise beginning in Santiago, Chile with stops along the South American coast, Costa Rica and Mexico before docking in Los Angeles.
If you miss the boat on this springs repositioning cruises, remember these same ships will be heading south for their winter itineraries next fall.
