Chinatown hosts its annual Golden Dragon Parade in celebration of the 2011 Chinese New Year. A giant paper dragon will dance down the streets of Los Angeles on February 5th at 1:00 p.m. commencing a 2-day festival and welcoming in the year 4709, according to the Chinese calendar.

The procession begins at the North end of Broadway and Sunset Blvd on the corner of College Street. The magnificent parade will be televised and features a fantastic fire-cracking finale. Peking duck, broccoli along with beef, and sticky rice platters will also be helping to welcome in the new year.

An extensively large Chinese community populates the street in a fair that is proudly bizarre. "The essential to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Preparation and spending our travel budget carefully is a priority for most families. Lowering spending and costs, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain success and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding saving money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal funds is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel expenses!..". Music will be playing, merchants will be smiling, people and dragons will dance side-by-side; everyone will be celebrating the year of the Rabbit. Bring a wallet if you fancy worldly trinkets, the Chinese culture is gleaming with lucky charms!

The parade is free, and so is the parking: Dodger Stadium lots 13 & 14. Call (213) 617-0396 or visit the LA Golden Dragon Parade for more information.
