National motorcycle travel: Mar. 5-11

Daytona Bike Week is the highlight event for the first full week in March. Tens of thousands of bikers will be heading to Daytona Beach, Florida on Friday to kick off the riding season. "The key to budget travel is to plan in front. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Other events on the calendar include AMA races and swap meets for those who cant make it to Florida.

ALABAMA:

Stock Law Gap Rally will take place in Georgiana Thursday-Sunday with games, music, food, and contests. This is an adult rally; no one under 21 allowed. (334) 525-0409

Swap Meet at Mainstreet Motorcycles in Mesa on Sunday will feature both indoor and outdoor vendor booths with no admission charged. (480) 357-7595

CALIFORNIA:

Motocross racing will take place at Competitive Edge MX Park in Hesperia Saturday-Sunday. (909) 456-1070

COLORADO:

Motocross racing will take place in Berthoud on Sunday. (720) 220-4698

FLORIDA:

Daytona Bike Week starts on Friday and continues through March 18th.
International Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet and Show will feature parts and accessories for restorers and builders Friday-Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Eustis. (717) 627-2556
Deland Bike Rally will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those wanting a break from the Daytona Bike Week. (386) 734-6295

KENTUCKY:

Motocross racing will take place in London Saturday-Sunday. (423) 323-5497

NEBRASKA:

Kearney Bike Show and Swap Meet is billed as central Nebraskas largest of its kind with food, the usual swap meet stuff, bike shows, and contests. The show takes place Saturday-Sunday at the Buffalo County Fair Grounds in Kearney. (605) 545-3602

MASSACHUSETTS:

Northeast Motorcycle Expo will have hundreds of vendors displaying products for bikes and riders Saturday-Sunday at Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington. (978) 688-8888

OHIO:

Giant Motorcycle Swap Meet will be held in the I-X Center in Cleveland on Sunday and is billed as the largest swap meet in Ohio. (800) 968-4242

SOUTH CAROLINA:

Carolina Motor Madness is a car and bike show that is free and open to the general public. The event takes place on Saturday at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill. (803) 548-2201

TEXAS:

Houston Custom Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet, sponsored by Texas Scooter Times, will be held on Sunday and will offer discounted admission prices to military. This event will be held at the Humble Civic Center Arena in Humble. (254) 687-9066

WASHINGTON:

Inland Northwest Motorcycle Show will take place Friday-Sunday at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. (509) 466-4256

WISCONSIN:

ABATE Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet will be held on Sunday at Waverly Beach in Menasha and will feature cash prizes in several bike judging categories. (920) 989-7934
