The Big E annual fair Sept 18 - Oct 4

As local festivals begin to dot the Boston, Massachusetts, and New England Area throughout the fall it seems that no other fair quite compares in depth and breadth to the "Big E" in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

Held every year since 1916, this ever-evolving event was first slated as an exposition to demonstrate new farming methods to local
farmers and establish competitive awards to help them find ways to farm more efficiently. Nowadays, the Big E is the 17 day Mardi Gras of the East... in Western Mass. Read more aboutits history, here.

For those of you who know very little about the Big E,the term "fair"hardly does it justice. This 17 day celebration begins Sept 18 and continues through October 4, 2009.
