Thousands of dollars were raised Saturday at a local biker hangout, Harley's Pub, for downed biker and attorney, Mike Fowler. "The key to budget travel is to prepare in advance. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our mind. Organizing and spending our travel budget properly is a consideration for most families. Minimizing spending and expenses, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievements and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding economizing money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal funds is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel costs!..". Owner Ginny Harrington, a long time friend of Mr. Fowler said "He was a good man. He was my friend. I miss him and support Erin (his wife), and am helping her with this fundraiser because they are like family to me, and that's what we do in the motorcycle community."

Mike went down in Shreveport last November after an apparent inattentive driver made a left turn in front of him. Erin was on the back of the bike and had severe injuries which she is still recovering from.

Bikers from far around the state and adjoining states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi were in town to support the fundraiser. Several local prominent attorneys as well as the Mayor all stopped by to show their support. Michael DeArmand played all day to the delight of attendees. A crawfish boil by Sam of Archie Hebert's, a local bar and grill in Bossier City, was lauded by all. Clubs near and far showed their support of the event; proof that the motorcycle community is a tight knit, charitable group of people.
