To get away from the stress of every day life, you don't always have to travel to a distant mystical place. "The essential to budget travel is to prepare in front. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the fact of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our minds. Planning and expending our travel budget correctly is a consideration for most families. Lowering spending and prices, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding economizing money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal funds is extremely small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, no matter whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel costs!..". Getting away can be as simple as turning off the electronic devices that are constantly demanding our attention, and tuning into the beauties around us. In fact, the next time your body is screaming for a little relaxation, consider putting everything stressful on hold--including distant travel--and staying close to home.
This last week, I had the opportunity to do just that. Instead of packing my bags and catching an expensive flight, I drove just 45 minutes north with my husband to stay in the luxurious Waldorf Astoria in Park City. Here are a few ways we enjoyed our staycation at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City.
Cooking -- It's not very often you have the opportunity to cook on a vacation. In fact, the best that most hotels can offer is usually a microwave, or a minibar that charges $5.00 for a candy bar. The kitchen in the Waldorf Astoria is nothing short of a dream come true for anyone with even a tiny interest for cooking. Not only is the kitchen amazing, and packed with every appliance you need for cooking up a great meal, but it costs about 1/4 of what it would cost to eat out for every meal. My husband and I enjoyed steak and vegetables, homemade Italian food, and we dressed up a fancy crepe bar for breakfast. It was delicious, fun to cook together and inexpensive.
Spa -- The Waldorf Astoria in Park City also offers various luxury spa packages. Of course, they have the traditional massage packages, but most visitors are interested in the speciality packages like the Lavender Zen treatment. The Lavender Zen treatment is an 80 minute body and facial exfoliation and relaxation process that is to die for. The spa is a wonderful place to relax, even if you aren't interested in purchasing a full spa package. If you stay in the hotel, you have access to the pool, jacuzzis, steam room, and the repose room. The Waldorf Astoria spa is a relaxing environment for everyone, and they provide you with relaxing teas and healthy treats.
Hiking/Biking -- Not only is the hotel beautiful, but the area surrounding the hotel is peaceful and gorgeous. In fact, the Waldorf Astoria is nestled right at the base of the Canyons ski resort. It is the perfect place to stay for winter skiing, but it's no less disappointing in the summer. While the Canyons makes for great skiing in the winter, it makes for great hiking and mountain biking in the summer. You can either take a European-style guided hiking tour, or you can go out on your own and explore one of the dozens of trails on the beautiful Park City mountain. Again, these trails are right outside the lobby of the hotel.
