International Female Ride Day, Shreveport Event

The Shreveport Motorcycle Community will participate in International Female Ride Day with a ride leaving Harley's Pub, 905 Barksdale Blvd, and arriving at the 2d annual Scots All American Cycles, Suckerpunch Sally's Music Festival and Motorcycle Rally at the Shreveport Fairgrounds.

I will be leading the ride, and the women and men alike will be decked out in pink for the event. It will be quite a spectacle of pink clad folks on motorcycles! Cost of the event is $5 per rider which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support breast cancer awareness and research. The riders will meet at Harley's at 5 pm for a 5:30 kick stands up departure. Discounted entry fees into the rally have been provided by Scots All American Cycles.

The normal rates for the rally are $20 a day or $50 for a weekend pass; except for those riding this ride will receive 1/2 price off. The rally begins today and lasts through Sunday. Gates open at 10am. There will be over 15 bands performing throughout the weekend. Tonight riders will enjoy the music of "Seven Hours to Southland" and a Cinco de Mayo party. On Saturday night, "Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws" will play and on Sunday "Dragstrip Phantoms". "The essential to budget travel is to plan ahead. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the reality of expense and budgeting is generally in the back of our heads. The reasoning regarding saving money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is incredibly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, regardless of whether on a funds or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel charge!..". Collier's Custom Classics will hold a drive in bike show and car show on Sunday. Expect plenty of beer, vendors, food and free giveaways in addition to the live music throughout the weekend. All proceeds from the rally will be donated to the Hillman House, which is dedicated to helping with a myriad of needs associated with children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
