When you think about the town of Lexington, Massachusetts, you think about the famous Shot Heard around the World. "The essential to budget travel is to prepare ahead. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the fact of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Planning and spending our travel budget wisely is a concern for most families. Curbing spending and fees, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal funds is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, no matter whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel charge!..". It was here where the very first battle of the American Revolutionary War was fought. Today, it is a suburb of Boston. It is a busy town with stores along its main streets, but you can still tour the many historic sites of the town. What you may not know is that Lexington was once a railroad stop.
The Train Depot was built in 1847, and it was a busy depot throughout its time. It was served by passenger trains and by freight trains where farmers were able to ship their produce to places like Boston and beyond. At one point, it was served by nineteen trains a day. The railroad line eventually ceased operation. (The year is currently unknown.) It has been turned into what is now the Minutemen Bikeway.
The depot remains to this day in the way it was originally built, and it is currently used for private parties. It is located at 13 Depot Square which is near the center of the town. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Lexington, Massachusetts, take some time to see where the American Revolution began, and see the place where the railroad revolution became part of the towns history.
