All 26 of the Minnesota Historical Society's sites and our state's 72 gorgeous parks are admitting visitors free of charge this Sunday, June 7. It's an ideal time to get out an experience a new place or to visit an old favorite. The essential to budget travel is to plan in front. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is generally in the back of our thoughts. Arranging and consuming our travel budget correctly is a consideration for most families. Lowering expending and costs, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievement and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding economizing money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel charge!. There will be family events at certain sites (check the MNHS or Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Web sites for more details), and 15,000 environmentally-friendly, reuseable bags (courtesy of Cub Foods) will be given out at the state parks.

Double your fun by picking a destination where you can take advantage of both offers. Perhaps visit Southwest Minnesota to see Blue Mounds State Park and Jeffer's Petroglyphs, or take in the parks of the North Shore and Split Rock Lighthouse, as I've mentioned in past posts.

If you want to stay in the metro area, you still have a lot of options:

  • Alexander Ramsey House
  • Historic Fort Snelling
