The Bolsa Chica Wetlands are the perfect outdoor exploring option that will not cost you a single penny. Besides being free, it really does have something for absolutely everyone, whether you enjoy hikes, simple walks, or photography, it is a great place to come and relax on your weekend.

A quiet walk amongst many beautiful trees, gorgeous spring flowers, and passing a vast collection of many local birds and other wildlife is what makes this place a great destination. There are many hikes for you to choose from and get lost with, in a good way of course. The path up on the hill along the golden wheat fields that softly blow in the cool ocean breeze offers the most amazing views of the Bolsa Chica State Beach. Sit on one of the many benches and let yourself just take in all this beautiful site really does have to offer.

For photographers, the Bolsa Chica Wetlands is a dream. You can take pictures of the gorgeous nature findings, or even grab some shots of the local birds. Rabbits are known to mingle around, and you most definitely find a lizard or two. You will not be alone when you whip out your camera in this truly picturesque place.

If you are looking for an almost unknown location in nature for no cost whatsoever, then the Bolsa Chica Wetlands are definitely the stop for you. You can relax in the serene conditions and take a great photo or two. The best advice for parking is to park in the residential areas off Bolsa Chica and one of the trails starts right there. It is easily reached off the 405 freeway and is about 35 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.
