Travel budgets are still pretty tight so here are five money-saving travel tips to consider when planning your next trip toHawaii for fun or business.
1. The essential to budget travel is to approach onward. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Preparation and consuming our travel budget properly is a consideration for most families. Minimizing expending and costs, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievements and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking behind economizing money while vacationing is simple: Even if your personal funds is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!. Hawaii Wholesalers. Unless you have a free airline ticket or lots of mileage poi
nts, consider booking your next trip through a wholesaler specializing in travel to Hawaii. There are many to choose from and your travel agent can make a recommendation + assist you with your trip or you can make direct contact.
If you have never booked a trip organized through a wholesaler before, you probably have been missing out on substantial savings. Because of their volume of business, wholesalers can offer great discounts on the various components of your trip ... airfare, accommodations, tours and activities.
In a recent NY Times article, Pleasant Holidays was advertising trips to Honolulu "from $379 per person, including round-trip flights on United from Los Angeles and three nights Waikiki hotel accommodations. The flight alone, for that trip departing on Aug. 24 and returning Aug. 27, came to $522.20 a person" in a search the reporter did on United.com.
Find out what other Hawaii wholesalers are offering by checking their websites too: Blue Sky Tours, All About Hawaii, Gogo Tours, MLT Vacations, Fun Sun Vacations, etc.
2.Online Travel Agencies. Another option is to see what Expedia.com, Travelocity.com and similar online travel agencies are offering for flights and packages to Hawaii ... especially when looking to just price and / or purchase airline tickets.
3. Hotels. When you have a choice, select a property that has agreat rate, good location plus complimentary amenities you can reallyuse. These days, hotels are giving away a variety of freebies so it will save you money if you do some research and book a hotel that offers the free services you want.
A sample of the free amenities offered by Waikiki hotels include: Continental and Americanbreakfast, WiFi or high-speed Internet, local and toll-free phone calls, bottled water, daily local newspaper, Wii hour, fitness center, Waikiki Trolley passes, Hawaii Polo tickets (in season)and managers reception. 4. Rental Car. Its great to have a car at your disposal 24/7 and the daily rates can be pretty reasonable but, unless you have access to free parking somewhere relatively close to your hotel, having a rental car for your entire visit can add $15 a day or more to your total vacation budget. That being said, you may want to consider takingthe airport shuttle or sharing a taxi from / to the airport and book a rental car for the day/s that youve set aside to explore and sightsee (which you really must do to get a real feel for what makes this such a special place ... Hanauna Bay, Haleiwa Town and the North Shore, Nuuanu Pali Lookout, USS Arizona Memorial, Bishop Museum, etc.).
5. Meals. If it works out with your busy vacation or business travel schedule, have a hearty lunch and light dinner instead of vice versa. Its better for you anyway and it can save you some serious money. There are numerous great restaurants all over the island serving excellent meals for lunch at very reasonable prices like Uncle'sat Pier 38. Youll also find that highly-rated restaurants that are open for lunch and dinner, like Orchids at the Halekulani (photo right), serve perfectly prepared meals at much lower prices during lunch.
Hawaii is a fabulous place to visit but, it's not a drive to destination so, if you have a travel budget to work with, implementing one or more of these tips will help to keep your spending in check.
