Honolulu is one of the most visited cities in the world. There are millions of people that travel to Hawaii each year. Why is this? It is a tropical paradise that offers weather ranging between a very tolerable seventy and eighty degrees year-round. People are drawn to the culture, beaches, and general happy atmosphere within the islands, otherwise known as the 'aloha spirit'. Of the seven visited islands, the one most traveled is Oahu. The capital city Honolulu, located on Oahu, offers a very nice blend of Hawaii's history, current trends, fun night life, beautiful beaches, shopping, and an amazing concept that is known as the Aloha Spirit.
One hang-up people have when deciding to travel to Hawaii is the amount of money it will cost them. However, it actually is very affordable. It does take a little planning and budgeting, however. Here are five basic tips for the people that want to take the trip, but don't know how, or importantly, how much.
1) Plan Ahead (obvious, yet very true). Create a plan of what you want to do on your trip. Do you want to go see what Honolulu has to offer, or would you prefer to lay low and relax. Both can definitely be offered.
2) Shop for a hotel. Look online at your house or at a library and find out what is available and for what price. Don't judge a book by its cover. Just because a hotel is on the beach does not necessarily mean that it is a five star resort, even though the pictures may show it. Look for the hotels that are close to the ocean, but not right on it. They are generally about half the cost.
3) Look for a rental car. Here is where you can save money. You don't need a rental car for your entire trip. Oahu has a very effective transportation system. Bus routes run over the entire island (This is on Oahu only). Rent a car for two-three days maximum. When you have it, plan your island trips. Go see those places you really wanted to see.
4) Have an agenda. Know or at least have a basic idea of what you want to see/do while your in Honolulu. Many people assume that when they land, everything will just fall into place and they will have a paved out road of fun. This is possible, however, with the proper planning.
5) Don't eat out for every meal. When you land, visit a Foodland or a Safeway and stock up on supplies (this works even if your just in a hotel room. The key to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our heads. Considering and spending our travel budget correctly is a priority for most families. Curbing spending and fees, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured achievement and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding protecting money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal funds is really tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel charge!. Just empty out the mini fridge and fill it with your groceries. At the end of your trip, put everything back in the fridge as it was).
