The town of Simsbury has just been named one of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Dozen Historic Destinations. The title is meant to recognize "cities and towns that offer an authentic visitor experience by combining dynamic downtowns, cultural diversity, attractive architecture, cultural landscapes and a strong commitment to historic preservation, sustainability and revitalization."
Citing the town's 350-year history, tree-lined Main Street and a large museum complex, the National Trust recommends Simsbury to visitors looking for the real New England.
