World's best place to live - France ranked 1, US is 7th

Looking for the best place in the world to live? Unfortunately for many Americans, it isn't the US. However, if you want to live in the 1 country in the world, head to France. International Living magazine has just named it the best place in the world to live.

While France tops the list, the rest of the top 10 includes Australia, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand, Luxembourg, the US, Belgium, Canada, and Italy. 200 countries were compared in nine different categories were considered in the rankings. Each country was given points from 0 to 100 based on Cost of Living, Culture and Leisure, Economy, Environment, Freedom, Health, Infrastructure, Safety and Risk, and Climate. Data from the World Health Organization and The Economist were analyzed and helped determine the points given to each country.

While France was ranked high in health care, infrastructure, and safety, the US scored well in freedom, infrastructure, and safety. The lowest rankings for the US were in economy, cost of living, and environment. The key to budget travel is to plan onward. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Considering and consuming our travel budget correctly is a main concern for most families. Reducing expending and prices, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal finances is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel expenses!. The bad news for the US is that the 7 ranking is down from 3 last year. However, it is a tough time for everyone as almost all of the European countries slipped as well.
