Over the next couple of weeks, I will be highlighting some fun things to do for Halloween in Sacramento. I am not promoting any particular event but highlighting the events available. Part I included a church carnival, Apple Hill, and Disney. Part II will include more events from the Sacramento area. The important to budget travel is to approach onward. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Planning and consuming our travel budget carefully is a concern for most families. Curbing spending and charges, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding economizing money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel expenses!. See the rest of the series - Part I, Part III, Bonus Guide.

Rocklin/Roseville/Auburn

Everywhere you go, the signs of Halloween are there. Homes are decorated with pumpkins, skeletons, and ghosts. Stores have their Halloween displays and more candy than you could possibly need. Kids costumes (and adults too) are everywhere to be purchased. So the costumes, candy, and decorations are set. So where can you go to have fun? I am going to try and list events in some of the bigger communities in Sacramento:

Rocklin

Harvey (Comedy/Theatre) - For a different sort of Halloween, see the 1944 play written by Mary Chase, Harvey, at the Dietrich Theatre at the SIerra College Rocklin Campus. The play is about a man Elwood P Dowd and his friend Harvey, an imaginary 6 '3 1/2 tall rabbit. When Elwood begins to introduce Harvey to a high society party, his sister seeks to have him committed. And the comedy ensues.

The Halloween production is October 31 at 8 pm. However, there are various other showings Ocotber 23-25 and October 29-November 1. Tickets are $10 for General, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 with an ASSC sticker. For more information and tickets, visit brown paper tickets.

Roseville

A Harvest Festival - Enjoy kids activities, a parade, and trick-or-treating in front of the Fountains at Roseville. The event is free, safe, and fun and runs from 5 pm to 7 pm. The Fountains at Roseville are located at 1182 Roseville Parkway. While this is all the information for this event, you can read more about it and see the schedule of events here.

Trunk-or-Treat/Fall Festival - Silverado Middle School is the host of this fun, safe, family friendly event on Halloween. Kids can play in the fun zone with a bounce house and giant slide. There are games and contests. And of course, lots of candy with the trunk-or-treating! The theme of this year's event is Superheroes so see the cars decorated with your best superheroes.

For the older kids, 2008 Miss America Kirsten Haglund will be there to meet and sign picutres. The Fall Festival and trunk-or-treating event is another church event, this time by Bayside of West Roseville. This FREE event is October 31 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Silverado Middle School (2525 Country Club Dr). For more information, see Bayside West Trunk-Or-Treat.

Callson Manor (Hanuted House) - Visit the 55,000 square foot Callson Manor House to experience a frightful evening. There are 3 events for $10 each or you can see all 3 for $20. The events include the Callson Manor Funeral Home, the Vampires Crypt, and The Deadlands. Also shown are the works of animatronics by Bryan Patterson and the make-up of Rick Bonngiovanni.

The Callson Manor House is located at the Placer County Fairgrounds and will be open on October 31 from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. There are other dates and times available to visit so for more information, go to the Callson Manor.

"Blackout" (Roller Skating) - Another great opportunity to have fun and help out a local organization. The Roller King is hosting a "Blackout" Halloween party on October 31 from 8 pm to 11 pm. Addmission is free but you will need money to rent skates. Bring canned food item (or many) to help out the Roseville Salvation Army.

This event is open to all ages and costumes are welcomed! The Roller King is located at 889 RIverside Ave in Roseville. For more information, visit the Roller King.

Auburn

Craft Fair (Auburn) -Auburn Grace Community Church is hosting a craft fair to benefit local children and orphans in Kenya. The cafe will be open for a soup lunch and baked goods. So take a look at some crafts and help the Sewers & Rippers raise money to produce quilts for these kids.

The Holiday Craft Faire is October 30 and 31 from 9 am to 4 pm. Auburn Grace Community Church is located at 3126 Olympic Way. Call 530-823-8330 for more information or see details of the eventhere.

Autumn Art Studios Tour - Preview Tour (Art Gallery) - There is a preview show of the Autumn Art Studios Tour (November 13-15) throughout October. However, you can visit the works of 77 different artists on Halloween from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Arts Building in Auburn. Each artist has selected a piece to show so if you enjoy art, get a look at the Preview Tour.

Tickets are $10 per person and the Arts Building Gallery is located at 908 Lincoln Way in Auburn. For more information on the Art Autumn Studios Tours, hours, dates, and artists, visit the Preview Tour website.

Annual Chrysanthemum Sale (Plants/Garden) - The Donner Garden Club of Auburn is having their Annual Chrysanthemum Sale. It's a great opportunity for plant, flower, and garden lovers to benefit another organization. Chrysanthemums, indoor and outdoor plants, flowers, and refreshments will be available as proceeds go to the Penny Pine Plantations, fund scholarships for Sierra College students, and for beautification of the area.

The event is on October 31 from 9 am to 3 pm and is located at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in Auburn. For more information, call 530-888-6118 or email donnergardenclub@yahoo.com.
