Visiting festivals throughout Arkansas can be fun for your family. It is a good way to learn about the customs and traditions of Arkansas and it's residents. Since most of the festivals are very inexpensive or even free to attend, it fits within most travel budgets. So enjoy the natural beauty of Arkansas and have fun experiencing the local fare. A few festivals are listed below.

1. Arkansas Folk Festival -- Mountain View has been hosting the Arkansas Folk Festival for almost half a century. Walk the streets and listen to live music, visit booths boasting locally crafted wares and enjoy the entertainment. 2. Toad Suck Daze -- Conway offers plenty of family-friendly fun during this festival. Golf, basketball and softball tournaments along with 5K and 10K runs accompany a car show, live entertainment and a market. Some of the proceeds from the Toad Suck Festival go to scholarships. 3. Riverfest -- Little Rock has hosted Riverfest for more than 30 years and offers six stages for concerts of well-known musicians and bands. Riverfest is famous for its music on the river; however, there are other day activities, such as fishing derby, children's activities and food. 4. Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival -- Helena-West Helena hosts one of the country's most well-known blues festivals. The Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival, once called the King Biscuit Blues Festival, has celebrated blues in the Delta for more than 20 years. 5. Riverfront Blues Fest -- Fort Smith has hosted the Riverfront Blues Fest for 19 years. There is lots of music and food at the Harrey E. Kelley Park. Ten bands will perform at the Riverfront Blues Fest , and admission is only $5, which the proceeds go to charity, including music scholarships. 6. Bikes, Blues and BBQ -- Fayetteville will celebrate its 10th anniversary in September for hosting the Bikes, Blues & BBQ (BBB) event. More than 100,000 motorcyles attend the event. In addition to the bikes, nationally-known musicians and a barbeque cook off will thrill visitors. Bikes, Blues and BBQ has donated half a $million to local charities and will be featured in the Souther Living magazine's BBQ on Tour. Visit the BBB website for more information.

7. Wakarusa -- Ozark will host the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival in June. This festival has its roots in Lawrence Kansas, but recently moved to Arkansas. 8. Legends Balloon Rally -- Hot Springs Memorial Field comes alive with color during the Legends Balloon Rally in October. More than 20 balloon pilots from around the country come to Hot Springs to compete. The Legends Balloon Rally includes free concerts featuring Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence and Blake Shelton. Coinciding with the balloon rally is the Tracy Byrd All-American Outdoor Weekend. For more information, visit the Hot Springs website.

9. Arkansas Scottish Festival -- Batesville celebrates Scottish heritage in April. The Lyon College campus is scattered with Celtic music, Gaelic goods, dancing and men in kilts. For more information on the Arkansas Scottish Festival, visit the Lyon College website.
