Fun out of the sun!

Bored and hot in Phoenix? Look for some fun, student oriented in-state travel? Then head down to the Arizona Science Center.

Now that school is out and the routine summer boredom has set in for most kids on summer break, the Arizona Science Center is offering plenty of fun, entertaining, education orientated programs.

Their largest program is their Summer Camp program. This summer is it called Science is all about me and what I can be! The camp is for kids ages 6-11 years old. The cost of the program is $200 for members and $225 for non-members. The key to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Planning and spending our travel budget correctly is a priority for most families. Lowering expending and costs, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievement and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding saving money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is incredibly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, no matter whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel expenses!. It runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4p.m. However, for an additional charge they offer early drop-off and late pick-up times for working parents. The camp has six sessions that each last a week. To register call 602-716-2028.

Each session explores a different aspect of science. For example, some explore aviation and flight, others explore engineering and building and all things mechanical. They also explore human science by discussing the brain and how a persons body functions on a day-to-day basis. And of course, it wouldnt be the science center if they didnt explore space.

They also offer a few camp sessions for teenagers ages 12-14. This program is geared toward teens that have an ambition for science and medicine. It allows them help actual doctors do research and work with patients. This program is through the Arizona Sciecnce Center at Biotechnology Medical Institute at Barrows Neurological Institute of St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center. The cost and times are the same as the other camp programs.

However, the Arizona Science Center is also a great place for people who are just visitng Phoenix. One of the reasons it is so great is the ice cold air conditioning. Plus it is educational fun that keeps kids and their parents out of the hot desert heat.

Right now the science center has a lot to offer. Along with their normal exhibits and hands on learning, they are having a Food Dectives program on July 10th.

General admission to the science center is $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors, and $10 for children (ages 3-17).
