Christmas at Biltmore begins on Nov 4 and lasts through to Jan 1 . Candle light Christmas Tours are what you want to see for this weekend. It is an evening tour of the Estate centered around the countries that the Vanderbilts visited during the turn of the century, including Egypt, India, France Italy and Germany all mixed with their own personal Christmas traditions featured on the gardens, grounds and the Estate.
About 57 Christmas trees are elaboratly decorated throughout the house by the Bilmore's floral team with miles of fresh garlands and wreaths and around 1000 plus red and white poinsettias decorated in the winter gardens, giving an X'mas aroma that will fullfill your olfactory senses for the entire season!
If you want to get a chance to see Santa, he will be at the Antler Hill Village on the Estate in the afternoons from around 1-5pm. The village connects to the winery, where you can take your guided tour and enjoy some beautifully selected wines to taste and get a chance to take in the winery itself.
During your evening tour you will get the magnificent warm glow of about 50,000 tiny lights with a 50 foot Norway spruce surrounding the front lawn.
