The Broadmoor presents the 9th Annual "Salute to Escoffier" Weekend February 4-6, 2011. "The important to budget travel is to plan onward. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the fact of expense and budgeting is generally in the back of our mind. Planning and expending our travel budget properly is a priority for most families. Curbing expending and costs, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding saving money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal budget is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, whether on a funds or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel bill!..". The only celebration of its kind in America, it benefits the Education Foundation of the Colorado Restaurant Association and The Broadmoor's Culinary Apprenticeship Program and Scholarship Fund.
Event Schedule
Friday: "Taste of The Broadmoor" welcome reception.
Saturday: Cooking demonstrations by The Broadmoor's chefs, followed by a wine luncheon at the Penrose Room restaurant. Next is an interactive cocktail class by the beverage team at Summit restaurant. The day finishes with a Grand Buffet featuring a progressive dinner of five separate courses with over a hundred varied offerings. Fine wines and champagnes are served with the courses in honor of Escoffier.
Sunday: brunch buffet extravaganza with ice sculptures and live piano music.
Broadmoor entertainers Ken Miller and Lila Mori are featured in the live entertainment. A live and silent auctions also add to the festivities.
