Now that summer is here and the kids are out of school why not spend some time in Boston visiting the many places of history and culture. For example the kids might find the Massachusetts Historical Society exciting. Here they make manuscripts and artifacts available to the public and they also have a number of seminars and give weekly tours. Check ahead for times.Next there is the Massachusetts State House, which happens to be the oldest building on Beacon Hill and offers a 45-minute tour. It has been reported that some 90,000 visitors tour the building per year. The USS Constitution cruises in the Boston Harbor. Also, take a tour of the Navy yard and exhibit hall.If money is an issue for you then make sure you stop by the Boston Public Library where you can see rotating art exhibits, movies, workshops, perhaps even the Art and Architecture Tour and more. While at the library be sure to check to see if they are giving out free passes that admit up to four people to the New England Aquarium but note the passes have to be reserved by an adult or teen who has a Metro-Boston library card. Check the library too for day passes good for parking at over 50 facilities in Massachusetts.

A lover of the great outdoors then youll be happy to know that the parks within Route 128 that are run by the Department of Conservation and Recreation are free to enjoy. Please visit the DCR web site for the complete list of these parks and beaches. Exceptions are: Boston Harbor Islands, Nantasket Beach, Nahant Beach.

Calling all students, art and museum lovers you must visit Newbury Street where there are some 15 art galleries that line either side of the street, such as Newbury Fine Arts which have displayed paintings by Rolling Stone guitarist and artist Ronnie Wood. "The essential to budget travel is to prepare ahead. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the actuality of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Considering and consuming our travel budget correctly is a consideration for most families. Curbing spending and fees, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured achievements and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind economizing money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel costs!..". Sometimes the Institute of Contemporary Art is free and offers unconventional exhibits. The Commonwealth Museum has undergone a major renovation and now everyone can enter and marvel at artifacts and original documents which are part of a permanent exhibit. Guess what? You can enter for free. Interested in Afro-American history then stop by The African Meeting House which is owned by the Museum of Afro-American History and located on the Black Heritage Trail. There is a suggested donation of $5.The Boston Harborwalk is a wonderful way to spend your sunset hours by taking a stroll along the Boston Harbor. It is a broad public walkway (a 40-mile path) that has cafes, artwork, and gives you access to water taxis and ferries. You absolutely can not leave Boston without visiting the infamous Old North Church where you can actually view the steeple where the two lanterns were hung that served as a signal to Paul Revere to take his famous ride, and thus sparked the Revolution.

So you see there is so much to see and do in the city of Boston youll be hard pressed to do it all in one visit. Be sure to come and enjoy.
