To escape the hustle and bustle of Rome, consider relaxing in a farm house away from the city center at the end of your visit. A search for a farm house in Rome for 5 nights beginning November 15 pulls up a double room at the Casali Santa Brigida, a 19th century rural home situated in 60 hectares of farmland, for $89 a night with breakfast included. You can have a picnic in the garden surrounded by olive trees and sunflower fields.
Bed and Breakfasts are always a good option for those looking for a friendly experience. Bennys B and B offers a double room for $86 a night in London for the same dates. It's further away from the tourist sites but is about 2 minutes away from South Ealing underground station. Taking the tube is a small hassle considering the money saved.
Besides offering more room for everyone to spread out, a family of four can save quite a bit of money by cooking meals in the kitchen of a self-catering apartment. For the same dates, you can book the FAY Notre-Dame apartment, situated in the Latin District for $209 a night. The apartment offers a kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, and a living room with a sofa bed.
