Diva Rags is a boutique shop in South Minneapolis, located on the corner of Cedar Ave. S and 42nd St. E. The essential to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the fact of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Arranging and consuming our travel budget carefully is a main concern for most families. Curbing consuming and prices, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured accomplishment and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, no matter whether on a funds or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel charge!. Brightly accented scarves hang outside glittering in the sun, indicating more good products inside. The owner/artist, Ashley Lauren grew the dream for her shop out of the unfortunate loss of her grandfather, who was also a positive influence in the community. Walk in the door to Diva Rags, and you know immediately, Ashley is perfect for the job. She greets each customer warmly and will not hesitate to tell you all about her boutique, and products.
The shop is filled with T-shirts, scarves, bandanas, flip-flops and other one-of-a-kind embellished clothing. One very original product Diva Rags carries are ankle belts. Like a small bungee cord for your pants, it allows you to recreate the tight ankle pants look of the 1980s, or keep wide pants out of your bike gears. Ashley discussed with me, that young girls today, wear very tight and revealing clothes and she saw an opportunity to provide a better option. She paints with bright and glittering colors because of the eye-catching effects. Girls want to be noticed, and Diva Rags allows them to be noticed in a good way. Ashley will also take custom orders and can spice up any article of clothing or accessory.
Ashley is active in the community not only at her shop, but also through the Diva/Suave Project, started in 2007. As part of the project she offers a program called the Junior Business Incubator, which gives young people training, mentoring and the necessary skills to become small business owners. In addition the project aims to educate early and pre-teens about HIV/AIDS prevention. At Diva Rags, Ashley sells fashion jewelry as a fundraiser for the Diva/Suave project, or you can make a donation here.
