There are more than 20 national park units within a 100-mile radius of the New York City metro area. These include national recreation areas, historical sites, and monuments. Below are the top New Jersey NPS attractions within a 90-minute drive from the city!

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Raft, kayak or swim the scenic Delaware River. Nearly 70,000 acres of forest and mountains provide for endless exploration. Thomas Edison National Historical Park Where else can you ramble through a giant gingerbread-like mansion while learning the story behind some of historys greatest innovations? Touring the stunning 19th century Glenmont estate of Thomas Edison is a superb way to spend an afternoon. Morristown National Historical Park- There are few places in the Northeast where our revolutionary war history is better showcased. History buffs can tour significant locations such as Washingtons 1780 winter headquarters, Fort Nonsense Hill and several Continental Army encampment sites.
