Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, a proud supporter of the annual Kauai Mokihana Festival, will be the host location for the Hawaiian Music Mini Film Festival on Wednesday, September 23 and the kahiko and auana hula competitions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 24, 25 and 26.
The Kauai Mokihana Festival celebrates the Hawaiian culture and values throughout the island annually and this years theme is Year of Hawaiian Music. The film festival is showcasing documentaries on many of Hawaiis beloved composers and musicians.
FILM FESTIVAL SCHEDULE for September 23. The essential to budget travel is to approach onward. 7 pm Preserving Kauai Backyard Music Vol. 2 Feature Documentary on Kauai Musicians, 60 minutes. This documentary has been entered into the Hawaii International Film Festival.
HULA COMPETITION SCHEDULE, $15 in advance, $20 at door. 
The competition takes place in the Jasmine Ballroom.
September 24, 6 pm Solo / Group Kahiko Nei Hula Competition
September 25, 6 pm Group Auana Hula Competition. Aloha Festivals Royal Court will be in attendance.
September 26, 11 am Solo Auana Hula Competition and Festival Awards Finale
Tickets for the hula competition are on sale now at Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, Vickys Fabric in Kapaa and Hanalei Liquor Store.
Special kamaaina rates at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort starting from $99 single/double are available by calling reservations at 808-246-5595, ask for code SPCL. Hawaii ID is required at time of check-in. The special cannot be combined with any other offer and is subject to change.
