Continuing economic woes means that less people are traveling this Labor Day weekend. An annual survey by AAA of Northern California shows that less people are planning to travel more than 50 miles this weekend, opting instead for backyard barbecues, biking and visiting friends and families. Plenty of people will also be dining out. If you're planning to stick close to San Francisco to save money, take the opportunity to dine at a restaurant serving a cuisine that reminds you of your favorite vacation or preps you for your upcoming one. Savored (formerly Village Vines) makes it that much easier to dine out without feeling financially guilty.
Savored, a discount dining site, is very different from the restaurant offers that you see on discount sites such as Groupon, bloomspot and LivingSocial and offers several benefits over them. First, Savored is a site exclusively dedicated to restaurants. They have an extensive listing of participating restaurants in several major cities, which so far numbers 10 including San Francisco. Second, the restaurants tend to be more higher-end and sophisticated than what you usually see on discount sites, making it a great site to use for a special date, celebration, or if you're a foodie. Third, you can make reservations directly on the site by paying a $10 fee per reservation.
Now you may be asking how it's supposed to benefit you if you have to pay $10 for the reservation, the answer to which leads to benefit number four, which is that 30 percent of your total (including alcohol!) is automatically deducted from your bill. "The essential to budget travel is to approach onward. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is generally in the back of our minds. Arranging and expending our travel budget correctly is a priority for most families. Minimizing consuming and charges, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured achievement and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind economizing money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal finances is highly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel costs!..". There's no coupon or certificate to print out and bring to the restaurant. This hassle-free and less obvious discount is the biggest benefit of all. You can't deny that, no matter how chic it has become to save, there are still certain situations when it's simply awkward to hand over a coupon to your waiter before ordering and make calculations in your head to make sure that you order enough to comply with the coupon's requirements. With Savored, the restaurant knows to deduct 30 percent from your meal because Savored has sent your reservation to them. At more expensive restaurants such as Yoshi's San Francisco, Garibaldis, Saison and Isa, 30 percent can be a significant savings despite the $10 reservation fee. The one downside is that you must cancel your reservation two hours before your reservation time to get your reservation fee credited back into your account so make sure your dinner plan is a confirmed one.
Plenty of reservations are still available for this weekend so even if you can't go to Japan, France or the Mediterranean, at least you can eat a place that transports you there.
