September 10 marks the kick-off of the 63rd Aloha Festivals with opening ceremonies that took place at Royal Hawaiian Center.
Theme for 2009: "Hula: Let the Story Be Told. This is the second year that Aloha Festivals has selected hula as a theme, underscoring the huge popularity of Hawaii's native dance in the islands and around the world.
Ribbon sales are also underway. Income from the ribbons are a major source of financial support for the many events associated with Aloha Festivals. The cost is $5 and ribbions are available at:
