New York City-based discount carrier jetBlue has reconfigured its fleet of A320 aircraft to include Even More Legroom seating at the front of each cabin. While jetBlue does not serve the Twin Cities (yet), travelers who originate in Minneapolis/St. Paul often find themselves flying jetBlue while in the Northeast,Floridaor on the west coast. The airline is the 1carrier at its home base of JFK International Airport, and is also the topairline at Boston Logan International Airport. Its route system is heavily focused on theBoston to New York to Washington D. C. corridor, as well as between the Northeast and Florida, and to the western states. It also serves more than a dozen Caribbean islands. The closest jetBlue currently flies to the Twin Cities is Chicago OHare.
Even More Legroom is described by the carrier as super-spacious seatsat the front of the aircraft and at the emergency exit rows that provides even more of that much-lusted-after-in-flight space. With a seat pitch of 38 inches, they arent kidding. Seat pitch is the distance from the front edge of your seat to the front edge of the seats ahead and behind you. Typically, seat pitch ranges domestically from 31 to 33 inches, so this extra space on jetBlue is quite substantial.
Passengers choosing to upgrade to the EML seating will also be provided with early boarding, which of course means early access to overhead storage space. jetBlue has a special offer for EML bookings made by October 31 where members of its TrueBlue frequent flier program will earn double points, or 400 points for travelbooked anytime this month or next. The price for Even More Legroom seating starts at just $10 per flight leg and varies according to the distance being flown.
Since inception in 2000, jetBlue has been a favorite of travelers in the markets it serves. The airline became better known with the recent incident where one of its flight attendants went into a tirade as a flight pulled into the gate at JFK, then jettisoned an escape slide, grabbed a beer and jumped down the chute. It has long been a favorite of travelers for offering complimentary DIRECTV, XMradio, in-flight movies from Jet Blue Features, as well as exclusive programming from PLUSTV. All of this is available at each and every seat with a personal entertainment system at your beckon call. In-flight wi-fi access is available as well, and it too is provided free-of-charge. The carrier also serves free snacks on all flights and there is no charge for your first checked bag.
