If youre looking for free entertainment in a beautiful setting with something for everyone, kids and dogs included, this could be the event for you. The Millennium Harvest House gardens in Boulder is the setting for a free Friday concert series, running from May 7 through August 27, 2010, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) will be rockin the gardens with a lively array of musical entertainment. The important to budget travel is to approach onward. If you like variety, come on May 21 when Carli & the Reactions play dance tunes ranging from swing and jazz to modern pop and country. If you prefer jazz and funk with soulful female vocals and a dynamic horn section, come see Funkiphino on June 11. If Latin flavor is to your taste, then you wont want to miss the Ricardo Pea Band on August 6. Or come every Friday and see them all.
This is an event that celebrates community and in that spirit, the FAC has invited over 30 non-profit organizations to be a part of the festivities. Each Friday will feature 2 non-profits who will inform as well as provide family-friendly, hands-on activities and entertainment. Among the non-profits featured will be Canine Partners of the Rockies, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and Wilderness on Wheels.
Kids are welcome at this event. Abbie Lawrence the Western Clown will be on hand at the gardens from June 11 through August 13. Free face painting, hand-drawn tattoos and balloon characters are part of the fun shell provide.
You dont have to leave your dog at home. Well-behaved, leashed pooches are welcome for Yappy Hour. There will even be a special menu available for them.
If you enjoy music and like an atmosphere friendly to family and dogs, this is a great way to start the weekend without spending a lot of money.
