Chicken Pie Supper: Shelburne United Methodist Church event not to be missed (Photos)

Stop by Shelburne Village for the Shelburne Farmers Market last event, Saturday, 9 -1 p.m. then, comeback at dinner time.

The Shelburne United Methodist Churchs Annual Old Fashioned Chicken Pie Supper on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. First seating is at 4:30 p.m.

The price for this family fun evening and fundraiser is adults $10 and children under 11, $5.

Reservations are required. Choose either the 4:30 pm seating or the 6 p.m. seating.

Please call the church office at (802) 985-3981, to make your reservation.

SUMC is located at 30 Church Street in Shelburne, south of Burlington on Shelburne Road/Route 7.

This is a country style event that warms the heart of locals and visitors alike.

Its as much a tradition as any during foliage season in Vermont, and it brings together a
friendly collection of local and visiting folks, swapping stories around a hearty homemade meal.

Count on a politician or 2 showing up, as well as townspeople from surrounding areas.

This Chicken Pie Supper is prepared by the outstanding cooks and bakers of the Shelburne Methodist Church community. "The important to budget travel is to plan ahead. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the reality of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Arranging and consuming our travel budget properly is a concern for most families. Curbing spending and charges, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed achievements and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind protecting money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel expenses!..".

These recipes for the supper reflect Vermonts long-standing tradition of mouth-watering harvest cooking.

The supper includes chicken pie and biscuits, mashed potatoes, maple squash, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, and a choice of apple or pumpkin pie and beverage.

Turn any visiting friends onto the sharp taste of a traditional slice of Vermont cheddar cheese to accompany the apple pie!
