For fans of the TV show Lost and the latest released X-Men Origins: Wolverine, you may already then recognize the talented young British actor Dominic Monaghan. I stumbled across an interesting article found in last weeks Los Angeles Times written by Mark Sachs that shows how this young resident of Hollywood Hills likes to spend his weekendand it wont cost as much as Im sure his home does.
According to the article, Dominic Monaghan actually really enjoys watching movies. He even doesnt mind watching ones that he is in - although he does state that he wont watch himself over and over again.
SATURDAY:
Dominic Monaghan likes to start his Saturdays by giving his pet python, Mojave, a chance for a little walkor slither as it may be. After his beloved Mojave gets some sun, he enjoys heading over onto Santa Monica Blvd. for a nice breakfast. Hugos is his place of choice. www.hugosrestaurant.com/
After the Lord of the Rings stars fabulous breakfast, he enjoys heading over to Erewhon Natural Foods Market [www.erewhonmarket.com/] where he can pick up a few things before inviting his friends over to watch football (soccer for Americans). He enjoys a relaxing little Saturday afternoon where hopefully his favorite team, Manchester United, will be winning.
For dinner, Mr. Monaghan enjoys going out for some sushi. A great place is Sugar Fish in Marina del Rey. It's like a slightly cheaper version of Katsuya. Not a really formal place -- it almost reminds me of a frozen-yogurt joint inside. Very vibrantly lit, quite small and boutiquey, very casual. I found out about it through my friend Elijah Wood. If you go out to eat with people who can't make their mind up, this is a good place to take them, because there's only about 10 things on the menu, Dominic states. sugarfishsushi.com/
After his delightful dinner, Dominic Monaghan is all about going to the movies. He enjoys going to the New Beverly Cinema where he can see some great vintage double bills. They recently played Blade Runner and Alien together there. www.newbevcinema.com/
SUNDAY:
On Sundays, Dominic Monaghan enjoys starting the day out by heading over to a little place called Home for breakfast. www.homelosfeliz.com/ He says the place is just like you are eating at home, the plates dont match and all the cups are different too.
After breakfast, Dominic enjoys taking a relaxing yoga class. He says he goes to a place in Los Feliz, but would rather not give the exact name so that it does not become over populated.
For Dominics Sunday dinners, he enjoys heading over to one of his favorite places called Little Doms. www.littledoms.com/ I asked if I could drink there for free since my name is Dominic, but they wouldn't go for it, he says. He also adds that he enjoys the very friendly girls working there too.
After dinner, Mr. Monaghan enjoys going to Griffith Park for a nigh hike. He takes his flashlight and looks for coyotes, snakes, and anything else he can find. He even says he has found black widow spiders. I myself have actually taken quite a few night hikes, and know that there are quite a few creepy crawly things to be found after dark. It is really fun to wander around at night, and the park is free at all times. So yeah, its definitely a win, win situation.
So there you all are. You can spend your next weekend just like the stars and without spending all of your life savings. The best thing about Los Angeles is that there is so much to explore, you will never tire of all the amazing places you can and will find.
